THE BEACH IS ALIVE WITH THE SOUND OF CHILDREN This was the sign outside most Newsagents around the Fylde coast on Tuesday morning following our beach clean on Monday 14th June. We were joined by 60 children from Manor Beach School along with feature writer Jacqui Morley from the Blackpool Gazette. The whole event was managed by Wyre Borough Council's Len Blacow who ensured the beach had a good clean and the children got to learn lots about our marine environment and most of all how to respect it. The children's yellow jackets, litter pickers and gloves were purchased with funding from The Green Partnership Awards Scheme. Green Partnership is supporting projects that have a lasting environmental benefit, involve the community and benefit the community, local wildlife and landscape. You can read Jacqui's feature by clicking here. Check the report on the Gazette website by clicking here.
Now have a look at some of the pictures taken during the morning. |
